@bloodandbonestattoo
@bloodandbonestattoo is the public handle of Cairns based tattoo artist, Cort Edwards. Cort's early artistic beginnings is a story common amongst most creatives and artists. His expression through drawing began as a small child and has stayed with him throughout his adolescence, early adulthood and remains a prominent undertaking today. Cort's art began generating an income via commissioned artwork orders and naturally progressed to undertaking his tattoo apprenticeship in time when he chose to welcome, accept, and commit to an industry career that was his destiny. Being the son of a very highly regarded tattooist and studio owner in Cairns meant that tattoo studios have been a longstanding fixture and permanent safe creative space throughout much of Cort's life. His journey has been paved exclusively at Trademark Ink where he was rewarded the privilege of being mentored by two high caliber artists, Tim James Edwards and Jamie Toyos, each with their own individual specialties, personal loves and unique creative flares. Outside of his respected and trusted day to day mentors, Cort is most inspired by Adam White and @ghosttattooer, and has grown to be particularly passionate about blowing preconceived notions about the limitations of skin as a medium wide open. His clients leave with a new perception and a greater understanding of the deserved appreciation of the arts, positioning Cort as an influential advocate for the tattoo lifestyle and industry, encouraging both tattoo enthusiasts and clean skins alike to value and respect the field. Late last year Cort introduced a new branch to his repertoire in the form of printing a series of original skull designs to be made available to purchase. The move paid off and attracted a positive reception accompanied by an encouraging uptake in sales, an outcome that delivered a renewed drive, increased motivation and new sources of inspiration for Cort. He has categorically cemented himself as an artist in his own right and is poised for success thanks to his obvious respect for his industry and his chosen approach in taking his time to observe, learn, practice and grow at a unrushed, steady rate that has kept him grounded and allowed him to develop confidence in his ability and skill set. We are honoured to be granted permission to stock a few of his prints amongst our existing collections.
